About Us
Block Captains Needed
Lisa Hinojosa has done a great job in recruiting Block Captains throughout Oak HiIls. Their
first task was to update directory information. We have Block Captains for eighteen streets,
but still need eleven more. We are especially in need of Block Captains for these streets:
Edgevale, Laurehill, Northaven, Oakridge, Shady Oak, Viewpoint and Winnetka.
Our Block Captains are the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. They are the front lines in
addressing the issues of your local street. It's easy; just host an informal block party event
by inviting your neighbors. They help in obtaining current status of homeowners, update
addresses, collect email addresses, and become aware of any neighbors that have special
needs such as seniors aging in place. Please give a little of your time and enjoy the
fellowship of neighbors helping neighbors.   Contact Lisa Hinojosa for sign up at

Want to improve the neighborhood?
Most of the work of the Oak Hills Association is performed by volunteers.  Our volunteers are
the core of the success of our Association.  Your board members and all Committee
chairpersons serve the Association in a voluntary capacity.  We always need folks to help out in
the various committees.  Please considering volunteering your time in this worthwhile effort.
The Annual January meeting is when we elect new board members to serve for the year.
People interested in committees can join anytime by contacting the chair of respective
committee they are interested in.  Both the board and committees meet on a monthly basis.

Oak Hills Citizens Association
The Oak Hills Citizens Association started on August 24,
1982,  by the homeowners of the Oak Hills Subdivision.
The Articles of incorporation and the Bylaws state that its
purpose is to unite the citizens of the Oak Hills Subdivision
through civic, social, and cultural endeavors for the
common good, well-being, and neighborly concern of its
residents.

Meetings are held January, April, July, and October.
The meetings are generally held either in the homes of
Oak Hills residents, or a neighborhood restaurant. When
meetings take place at a residence, we enjoy a  potluck
dinner, a brief business meeting, an informative
presentation of interest to residents, and  socializing.
Our January meeting is held at La Fonda Mexican
Restaurant, at which we elect the board members to serve
for the year.

Our volunteers are a hard working group, however some
tasks such as landscape improvements, trimming trees in
the parks,  printing,  mailing,  legal fees, Board member
insurance,  production of  newsletters and directories are
performed by local businesses.   Your annual dues of
$50.00 help sustain our association, and it is vital all
residents share in this support.

The Association has improved the landscape of the parks
and main entrance areas with stone markers, sprinkler
systems, lights, planted trees, and shrubs.  An
Architectural Committee has worked to ensure that any
building construction conforms to deed restrictions and
zoning requirements.  The association stands ready to
watch for and challenge any threat to the superb
ambiance of this community.

The Organization maintains a website, publishes and
mails to all households a newsletter (The Acorn) four
times a year.  An eNewsletter is published and emailed to
our active mailing list.  A Resident Directory is updated,
published, and distributed  once every two years.

Oak Hills is one of the most unique and beautiful areas in
San Antonio.  Having said that, the most attractive feature
of our neighborhood is found in those residents who
continue to work together to make and keep Oak Hills a
desirable place to live.
